Hallowe'en

My nibling has always been really into Hallowe'en even though it's barely noticed in our family traditions - the dressing up and the sweets at first, and then the general gothic and gore and ghouliness vibes appeal.

Today we played a video-call Hallowe'en one-shot D&D game "in costume" - which meant head to toe with full face and hair make-up for the nibling, a fairly thorough from the waist up costume from one friend, a hat from another (she had an accidental nap and was running very late...), and a fairly low key effort from me as work is winning everywhere right now and I'm not coping very well.  I hinted at a tabaxi witch with a leopard-print shirt and a witches hat with crocheted cat ears pinned on as if they were poking through to start (the "daft old cat lady late mother-in-law" whose house we were in was actually more cat lady than expected, even as a ghost), then for the final battle switched to being a Shambling Mound since they were battling a lump of animated swamp (an old towel which got accidentally dyed green ages ago, with a load of paper leaves safety-pinned to it, tossed over my head).  The shambling mound went down very well at least.

No-one came trick or treating (as normal) which is good as I ate all the candy yesterday trying to make myself finish off the prep for the coming week's teaching...
